Construction update!
Hi all,
Take note of today’s (September 3) email from the Board, which contains important information about beach access construction. The following is taken directly from the Board’s letter:
Construction will start on September 8 and continue for approximately 6-8 weeks barring severe weather or other unforeseen circumstances.
Half the parking lot will be used for construction equipment, a dumpster, porta potty and material. While the current access ramp will remain open during the initial phases of construction, there may be brief occasions that it is necessary to close it off.
The entire area, including the ramp and stairs, should be considered a construction site. Workers, equipment, and materials will be using the ramps to protect the bank. We urge caution, patience and understanding.
For approximately 2 weeks towards the end of construction, there will be NO access to our beach while the final connection is being made to the new stairs. When the new stairs are complete and opened, the old ramp will no longer be accessible.
The remaining sections of old access ramp will be removed in spring 2023 to offer some winter protection to the bank and provide a better planting opportunity for beach grass and shrubs.
Please note that circumstances may change at any time during construction and that the above schedule may change at the discretion of the contractor. The Board will communicate any major issues or changes as appropriate.
Please contact the Board at chihoatruro@gmail.com with any questions.
